scott prince has to make the team hands down the best half back in the game……..
thurston 5/8
slater could play wing and hunt full back
slater aint a bench player -
queensland is going to lose mate..and that al there is 2 say..
-
cant believe michaels was named in the top 25,queensland need an experienced backline dont know how he can be compared to the likes of hodges and inglis
-
mathew……. slater can come off the bench! i’m sure that either one of the full backs can do the job, although we did win last year with both of them in F.B. not a bad idea but stick with a proven formula. it worked and still can

further more lockyer needs to be 5/8th .. he looks worse this season because broncos new attack is going threw the half back .. and not 5/8th . he is still as good as ever and i bet he steps up if givin the chance
-
how did Jamie soward not make the team that kid is playing the best football but just cause hes not a big name he misses out. what a shame.
-
what is willie tonga doing in the side that guy is way past rep footy. i just dont think he has got it in him any more.
then again he might prove me wrong. we’ll just have to wait and see

it dont matter who u gunna put in ur side
blues are gunna win -
Patty May 5th, 2009 at 00:37
It doesn’t matter because QLD suck balls and it won’t help them if there team are all test players Sl;ater sucks especially
-
bruggas May 5th, 2009 at 01:57
Yea…
Jamie Soward is the best player ever. But if he did play in origin he would play for NSW because he was born in Wagga Wagga and his junir club was The Wagga Panthers. -
wally-puzz May 6th, 2009 at 01:56
slater is a definite fullback run on
karmichale is a utility and can run off da bench! -
fraser May 6th, 2009 at 22:27

I think the only chance NSW have of winning the series this year is through Qld complacency. Qld could name a third string side and still beat NSW, purely because the NSW selectors are useless.
I would have to agree that Soward would have to be the unluckiest player in the league at the moment, not to even be in contention for a spot in the 45 man NSW squad.
How Ashley Harrison (good player, just not quite up there this year) made it into the Qld squad over Michael Luck I have no clue.
Heres an idea, why not have Dallas Johnson, David Stagg & Michael Luck as the Qld back row, all average at least 40 tackles a game and are close to eighty minute players. This would free up potentially 3 spots for big front rowers on the bench and a utility.
QUEENSLANDER!!!!!

haha nsw selectors do suck WHY DOES PRESTON CAMPBELL GET OVER LOOKED AT FULLBACK!!!
-
I dont happy with the selectors of QLD who selected Steve Michaels. Why dont selecting Wendell Sailor.Because when comparing both, Sailor plays more harder than Michaels.
-
sicz.. I don’t think the blues will win anymore, their players are like baby nanas. Darren Lockyer and the QLD boys will play the best footy
-
I dont happy with the QLD selectors who selected Steve Michaels to play in the origin. Why dont selecting Wendell Sailor because he play more harder.
-
joel, queensland has never hesitated to put a new unknown player on the team before if they’re good enough. Think back to Slater’s first Origin, nobody aside from the Storm’s followers knew who he was, what about Darius Boyd and Greg Inglis and Adam Mogg, they’re big names now but had hardly been heard of outside their club’s fanbase prior to their Origin debuts.
-
Johnathan Thurstan should be on the bench, he is not playing tough enough like Scott Prince who put the Titans up the chart..
PNG scotty…!!!
-
YEAH leah u got me mate couldn’t have said better myself: cheers. angelberth BAI in some respects i must agree WENDELL(snort da magic dragon)SAILOR, is 1 i would in my line -up as he can come off the bench as a BACK or in the FORWARDS as proven in the past. GO QUEENSLAND, WHAT COCK-A-ROACH, would like 2 put there mouth is: YEAH DIDN’T THINK SO.see ya at LANG PARK #3 LUV YA ALL : REGARDS TINK.
-
SJ JOHNSON May 24th, 2009 at 16:47
NO MATTER WAT LINE-UP QUEENSLAND PUT UP NSW HAS NO CHANCES OF WINNING
AYE PATTY REMEMBER AUSTRALIA VS NEW ZEALAND WHO HAD THE MOST PLAYERS INVOLVED?? QUEENSLAND THATS WHAT I THOUGHT
THE WHOLE BACK LINE WAS OUEENSLAND WHICH JUST SHOW THAT QUEENSLAND IS GONNA RIP IT UP ONCWE AGAINBOOYAH !!!!!
-
shoeshiner May 25th, 2009 at 04:28
as Phil Gould would say dear oh dear oh dear the blues need Soward if we want any redemption shame!!
-
WINTERSTEIN should be playing on the wing he has been one of the best players to watch so far along side folau, the selectors are going with the obvious choices when it comes to selections.

Regards to ” Qld4 eva ” comments.. Three back rowers like Luck, Stagg and Johnson in the same team would be suicide.. You don’t need 3 players to make over 40 tackles a game.. You need one! And two other strong ball running back rowers and intimidating hitters ie. Crocker, Thiaday, Costigan, Parker, Harrison or Myles in that order.. You cant rely on front rowers to do all the hard stuff.. Look at how many hit ups and meters gained Those three back rowers you named do compared to that of the back rowers I named.. It’s a no brainer decission and Queensland selectors will pick the right ballance.. As for other comments I read suggesting Lockeyer should be left out.. You must have a short memory.. How many times he has won games for Queensland, Australia and the Broncos on his own proves his worth.. The best player in the world.. The only current player named in the team of the century.. Wait until he is gone and then you will notice how much he adds to a football team.. Lastly Jamie Soward is not a Origin Player ( yet ) he is very vunrable in defence and someone like Campesse is much better suited for Origin..

Slick May 28th, 2009 at 00:22
So long as Slater is on the field the Blues have a chance

-
Andylocky6 June 4th, 2009 at 19:40
well Slick seems to me that Slater was in fact part of the reason QLD won..
