New Scotty Cameron Studio Select Kombi Putter
Posted on February 26th, 2009 No commentsThe Studio Select Kombi line is available in standard, mid and long length models – Kombi (33”, 34”, 35”), Kombi Mid (43”) and Kombi Long (50”). Each Kombi is precision milled from lightweight 6061 Aircraft Aluminum and features Studio Select weighting technology. Kombi putters incorporate a thick face and three-point weighting, that is, weights in the heel, toe and back. The result is unmatched solid feel and sound in a mallet putter. The combination of the three-point weighting technology and a deep CG produce a balanced putter that is stable throughout the stroke for forgiveness and great roll.

Common Misspellings:
Titliest Kombi Putter, Titelist Kombi Putter, Combi Putter

New Nike SQ Dymo with Str8 Fit Technology
Posted on February 19th, 2009 No commentsI have never been a massive fan of Nike Golf Drivers, but the new Nike SQ Dymo drivers with Str-8 Fit technology look very interesting.
With the new release of the Nike SQ Dymo drivers, they have closed the gap for normal punters like me on the technology that professionals use to improve their game. The new drivers, come with club face angle technology called “Str8 Fit” (pronounced “Straight Fit”). This means that you have 8 different club face angles available, easily changed by a wrench. It basically works by connecting the head and shaft according to your objectives (correcting a shot, or shaping a shot), and then using the wrench to tell you when the shaft is locked in (a red LED light appears).
I thought the Taylormade technology was cool when it came out with adjustable bolts on the head, but Nike’s new technology takes this one step further. Here is a YouTube video of how the Str8 Fit Technology works
There is a great demo of how you can correct/shape shots with the new drivers at the Nike Golf website. The measurements for the new Nike SQ Dymo Str8-Fit are:
Club 8.5 9.5 10.5 11.5 HL Length 45.75 45.75 45.75 45.75 45.75 Size 460cc 460cc 460cc 460cc 460cc Women? No No No Yes Yes Looking around, the price seems to be around US$399 for the Nike SQ Dymo Str-8 Fit Driver. Edwin Watts seems to have the product online, however only available from the 20th of March 2009.
[Edit] wbaker777 from Yahoo! Answers has given me the heads up that April 1 2009 will be the launch date in the US and UK.
For the bargain hunters out there, now would be the time to buy an SQ Sumo, as most golf stores online seem to be discounting the now “old model” SQ Sumo with some down from US$470 to $180.
Happy golfing!

Tiger Woods return to golf imminent?
Posted on February 18th, 2009 No commentsAfter his long recovery from knee surgery, Tiger Woods’ return to the course is looking imminent. I must admit, I am looking forward to seeing Tiger return (as would the USPGA :)) but I have also really enjoyed my golf viewing over the last 7 - 8 months whilst he has been taking a breather.
I suppose the playing field was leveled, and allowed players such as Padraig Harrington to step up, and win 2 major championships. The US Ryder Cup team stepped up to the plate without Tiger, and beat the Europeans (although imagine what it will be like when Tiger returns to the team.
Has the field moved in Tiger’s absence and left him behind or is Tiger going to come back better and stronger than ever. We are going to find out soon, and I am waiting with bated breath to watch Tiger play the US Masters 2009, and win back the Green Jacket from the US Masters 2008 winner Trevor Immelman
